“I Do Not Have a Hearing Problem”
I Will Never Wear a hearing Aid”
“People Will Think I am Old”
How many times have you heard that “Mantra!” That was me, 13 years ago, at the age of 65. (You do the math)
Hundred of my friends) okay I tend to exaggerate) 2 friends told me that I keep saying “Huh and What?” My family doctor suggested that I make an appointment with Dr. Leslie Stewart at Aurora Audiology & Speech Associates. I set up a date to be tested. Reluctantly, dragging my feet and muttering under my breath “I will not wear a hearing aid”
I went into the office expecting to see some kind of “ogre” wearing black Cuban heeled oxfords come out to get me. Instead a “Lovely, Smiling” lady welcomed me into the office. After the hearing test, Dr. Stewart determined that I needed a “dreaded” hearing aid for my left ear. I was fitted for a “shell type.” Remember that was 13 years ago.
I received my new “aid” and could not believe all the wonderful sounds that I was missing all those years. After a few years, I got an ‘aid” for my right ear. I will admit, I had a hard time adjusting to two aids. Dr. Stewart was so patient with me. She “bent over backwards” to make things work. When my warranty ran out, she out, she introduced me to the new AGX245 RIC (receiver in canal) I immediately fell in love with my new aids. I’ve had them now for five years (the average life span for hearing aids is seven years) During that time the doctor periodically re-programmed my “aids” as my hearing changed due to aging, cleaned and serviced “my aids” and provided me with free batteries all covered by my warranty. Since my “aids” are still working fine, it will be “in the future” for new aids. Dr. Stewart explained some of the new technology existing with new “aids.” I am looking forward to the time when I upgrade “my aids” Of course, I would not even consider going any where else, but Aurora Audiology & Speech Associates and Dr. Stewart.
Aurora Audiology & Speech is a local Doctor owned office.
The full page ads advertising “Big Box” offices offering special deals on hearing aids can be vey tempting, but there is no comparison with quality of care that is received at “My Doctor.” There I am treated like a valuable patient and not just a “number.”
When it comes to your hearing it pays to go to the “best” and by “the best.” I want to thank Dr. Stewart and her staff for a great experience.
I am not related nor know Dr. Stewart or any member of her staff prior to becoming a patient.
Nor do I have any connection to hearing aid manufacturers or distributors.
I am just a satisfied patient!”

“At home, I missed so many things with my family conversations. With friends, it always seemed like I was missing the jokes and punch lines. At work, I could barely hear my boss. (which is not a good thing!) It was difficult to carry on conversations with anyone. Often, I would just smile and nod – not knowing what was being said. I had a friend who got hearing aids and it helped her so much, so I thought I would give it a try.
What a change! Now my family is asking to turn up the TV and not me! I am able to have conversations without missing the joke! Work has improved because I am not missing discussions that are vital to doing business. I feel more in control and less insecure. It truly changed my life!”

“It has been a true pleasure doing business with Aurora Audiology in East Aurora, NY. The staff is very friendly and professional. I can call anytime with problems or questions regarding my hearing aid and all my concerns are taken care of quickly. In a day where many medical offices seem impersonal, it is nice to know Aurora Audiology really cares for the health and well-being of their patients.”
“When I think of my AGX Hearing Aid, the phrase ‘I didn’t know what I was missing’ definitely comes to mind. The clarity and crispness of sounds and voices is remarkable, and the follow-up support and instruction is a big benefit. I don’t want to be without them, now that I know exactly what I would be missing.”
“I really love my hearing aids. I only wish that I had gotten them years ago.”
“I had gotten used to the lack of hearing. Sometimes it’s an advantage (especially at night). But I love having the option to be able to hear conversations clearly without having to look them directly in the face. When someone speaks to me from behind or on my left side, I now can hear them. People used to think I was ignoring them. Thank you for the new freedom.”
“Dr. Hill was wonderful with Max and answered all of our questions and concerns very well. Very painless experience. Thank you!!”

“The person who worked with me was very nice and explained everything that was done and made me very comfortable. She answered any questions that I asked.”
“The audiologist that tested me was wonderful. She explained all that she was doing during the testing. I walked away understanding the test results.”

“I am very pleased with my AGX hearing aids.”
“I only wish I hadn’t waited as long to get the second aid.”
